CEILING BLANKET

Mammoth 100% polyester insulation blanket to reduce heat transfer through ceilings.

Description

Mammoth ceiling blankets are designed to be installed in new or existing roof cavities.

An effective and easy form of thermal insulation, Mammoth® Modern Insulation ceiling blankets have a range of R-values of up to R4.0, or R8.0 when double layered. Mammoth blankets are long lasting, won't sag or settle over time, are non-irritant and highly effective. Mammoth products contain recycled polyester fibres. Mammoth ceiling blanket insulation uses up to 7,400 recycled plastic bottles per 100sqm*.

For new ceilings without a roof space there is the option of our Mammoth Skillion Ceiling Sections and for skillion and truss roofs we have Mammoth Ceiling Battens.

Can be double layered to meet the new Building Code.

Mammoth ceiling blankets are manufactured in roll form so that they can be installed as both a single or double layer system. For any system - single or double layered - the joist depth must be greater than the insulation thickness.

Mammoth ceiling blankets are designed in widths to fit snugly between joists or trusses in a single layer option or alternatively with a second layer run perpendicular to the first, covering the top of the joists or truss bottom chord reducing thermal bridging in these areas.

Q&A/FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

R-Value is a measure of thermal efficiency - is measures the thermal resistance of the material. The higher the R-Value the better.

Minimum R-Values are specified for ceilings in the building code.

The New Zealand Building Code specifies minimum R-Values for ceiling insulation in different geographic regions of New Zealand. Read more here.

Yes you can. Mammoth ceiling insulation is very easy to work with as it is non-irritant and is designed to roll out over joists.

We encourage you to read the Installation Guidelines for Ceiling Blanket carefully since all insulation must be carefully placed around fire hazards like downlights and chimneys.

You can purchase Mammoth ceiling insulation from most building merchants although, due to its bulk, they may not all have it in stock - we suggest you ring ahead for pricing and they can order in your specific requirements.

Ceiling insulation sections are designed to be placed between joists which can allow for heat to be lost in the gaps - this is thermal bridging. In contrast ceiling insulation blanket rolls out over the joists to prevent thermal bridging.

All Mammoth insulation products are heat bonded and contain no glues or other materials that may break down over time.

And if you ever need to remove Mammoth insulation, our products are 100% recyclable.
